Last evening, some of the women of my family and I got together to chat over an early dinner at this chic Thai restaurant called Spice, located on 13th street near 14 Street-Union Square in NYC.
The Three Flavor Salmon (which is a well-sized salmon filet with Thai spicy tamarind sauce and stir-fried mixed vegetables) was divine.
Our waitress warned me that the dish was mildly spicy, which was fine with me because I have a palate for spicy foods.
However, I’m not sure what her definition of “mild” was because I found myself heaping mountains of rice onto my plate to mix it with my food, as well as constantly taking sips of my strawberry lemonade, so that my tongue wasn’t set ablaze. But, it was this, “oh-wow this food taste heavenly, though I’m sure it is slowly setting each of my taste buds on fire..” type of mild.
All in all, the conversation and atmosphere was lovely and I had a great evening with everyone.
